Who would have known?

I know... Jesus Christ, Jehovah, The Redeemer and Savior of the World, The Risen Lord, the Son of God

I believe... strongly in life after this life.
I fought... to win my wife.
I am angered... by men who abuse their wives or children
I love... my family
I need... to feel accepted
I take... baseball seriously
I hear... a stupid motorcycle at night
I drink…too much diet soda
I use... a computer, mostly with Microsoft Office programs a whole bunch every day.
I want...to be in the healing waters of Hawaii again
I like... chips and salsa
I feel... warm when I think of my wife and children.
I wear... white socks a lot
I left.... Idaho 22 years ago
I do... enjoy painting, although I'm not real good at it.
I hope... I can be a good Bishop.
I dream....of retirement, being with my grandchildren, or in the healing waters of Hawaii, or both.
I drive... a chevy SUV.
I listen... to most kinds of music, other than country
I type... O positive. You Type A Negative.
I think... funny things.
I wish... I could excercise again. My back gets too sore when I walk and try to take off weight.
I hate... people who won't use their turn signals

I am... foregettful nowadays.
I regret...being angry at my mother for so long.
I care... for my children - and their children.
I said... "We learn from it, and move on."
I wonder... if this procedure will reduce my back pain, how to move at the speed of thought, who will be the next Bishop
I cry... when I see the things men do to each other
I lose... no money in Las Vegas
I leave... my watch at home too often.
I should... do my Home Teaching.

Disney Time

My first trip to Disneyland was when I was 39. I just graduated from University of Phoenix with my Master"s Degree. My father had an operation during that time frame Kayleen had been to Anaheim, but the rest of us had not. After the first trip, we went back every year or so for two or three years. Then some of the school kids at the Park were spitting on us and other guests so we haven't been back for a while.
Now we are looking at going to Disney World with Phillip, Kelly, Andrew and Gabriel. We are looking at the last week in August, but it could go into September. Anyway, we are looking forward to meeting Micky, Donald, Alice and the other folks again.

The Miracles in my Life

This week has led me to ponder the various miracles in my life. Yesterday I could barely move because of back pain. I woke up today wondering if I would be able to attend church. Although still sore, the overall level of pain was so much less, that I was able to participate in all meetings, and to take care of all interviews and meetings. I was able able to view and participate in some significant miracles in the lives of others, in addition to my own. Here are a few pictures of what I consider, the miracles in my life.

My Wife, Kayleen is the most amazing person I know, and the fact that she loves me still, is a miracle.

My Children have grown up to become respectable members of society. That they could overcome the problems and issues of having me as a father, is a miracle. My grandchildren are happy, loving and intelligent people. I marvel at the patterns of life that continue to renew the world with these amazing children. The procreation of life is a miracle.
I view the creations of God. This flower is the Passion flower. We found it in Hawaii. It was one of the rare days that the flower was blooming. This earth is indeed, a miracle. The temples of God are the locations on this earth where families are sealed together for eternity. They truly are houses of God, where His presence can be felt. The promises pronounced upon His children are sure, His love is true, and his plan of happiness, is a miracle in my life.

Visit to Utah

Kayleen and I went to Utah for the weekend. We had to fly out of Phoenix becuase the cost to fly out of Tucson was prohibitive. We boarded the plan a few minutes early, but the Captain came on the intercom and said that the navigation computer had corrupt data, and we would be 15 minutes or so late. I called Tim and said that we would be 45 minutes late. We took off 48 minutes late, but the schedule did have some sand, so we only landed 25 minutes late. As we were getting off the plan, one of the U S Airways security guys held out his arms and said HEYYY, and gave me a hug. I was startled but it was good to see Spencer. He was much happier than the last time I saw him. That night we west to dinner and to the Inner Tube Water Polo game (See video below). The next morning, I went to see mom. I went back in the afternoon, but Clark had taken her for a ride. I went back later in the evening when she was trying to sleep. I read some Robert Frost to her. The book did not have "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening," so we had to settle for some others.

Saturday evening we celebrated Tim's Birthday. He made RootBeer and we played Quelf and Apples to Apples ("Toast: to ancient times and distant msic.") Sunday we went to church. I went up to the Canyon Breeze home again for a last visit. It was a quick trip, but very relaxing. It was nice to see the children and grand children, play games, and just generally catch up on how they are doing.

I Would Have Never Known!

We came up to Utah on a spur of the moment trip. Friday night, the family played in an Inner-tube Water-Polo game. We heard the boys talking about it from time to time. If fact, when they would meet someome knew, they would begin to ask questions that would indicate how good of a player they would be - Can you throw a baseball, are you a good swimmer, and so forth.

We scored the first goal, but then the other team took over. Midwy through the second half, we were down by 8. They pulled their goalie so that he could play offense for once. We scored a bunch more goals to their 3 points, and we won by one point, on the goal that Michael scores at the end of the tape. It was the first time I have watched water polo played on inner-tubes, but it was a great game.

Aruba December 2004

A few years ago, my employer reached some profitability objectives that we had been working towards. As a reward, the owners sent the General Manager and me to Aruba with some customers on the Tenneco trip. We flew down on Saturday, through Houston. I found out later that we had very good connctions, since it only took us one plane change. There is a six hour time difference between Tucson and Aruba, so that did take some getting used to. On a funny note (now, but not at the time!) I lost my passport on the plane from Houston to Aruba. I knew I had it with me as we boarded, but midway through the trip I was checking and I could not find it anywhere. After about 45 minutes of panic, I pulled my whole bag out of the overhead bin, and the passport was in the bin, behind the bag. It took the rest of the plane trip for my heart to slow down and for me to stop sweating.

We stayed in the Hyatt. It was nice, but there were areas around the hotel that were a bit rusty.

One thing we noticed immediately is that the wind always blows from east to west. ALWAYS. Sometimes it blows stronger than others, but it is always there. Hence, the trees seem to lean towards the west.

One day we took a bus trip around the island. They fit a bunch of us in a VW bus, and when the normal seats were full, they pulled out some jump seats so that there were no isles on the bus. We went over to the east side of the island, where there is a fairly fameous "natural bridge." Everyone needed to use the bathroom by that time, but they bathrooms were pay only - $.25 to go into the bathroom. Every business does accept US dollars, although the official currency is something else. We also visited a lighthouse on the Northwest tip of the island, and then "Baby Beach" on the South east. It is called Baby Beach, we were told because the water is shallow for quite a ways out into the ocean. We went snorkeling there and it was very good. Some other tourists kept feeding the fish, which sent them into a frenzy and it was a bit scarry, we we swam further out, where the cove meets the ocean. The water was much deeper there, but we were able to see some squid and some different kinds of fish. Another day we took an afternoon snorkeling trip on the West coast of the island. There was calmer water with more reef area to explore. The snorkeling was world class.

We found that we loved to just relax by the ocean a lot. We would take early morning walks on the beach, afternoon walks on the beach, and just sit an relax in the evening to watch the sunsets. The sunsets weren't as spectacular as in Hawaii, but they were just as relaxing.
